Graduated from University of Latvia faculty of Chemistry (1980) and received her Master’s degree in Chemistry from University of Latvia in 1993. She has a special education in intellectual property and works in this field since 1983. Prior to joining Agency in 1998, she worked at the Patent Department of the University of Latvia. State certified patent attorney since 2001, European Patent, Trademark and Design Attorney since 2005. She is a member of Latvian Association of Patent Attorneys. She practices in the field of inventions, trademarks and industrial designs. Maruta is a European cooperation agent of Wayne.
